Parrillian at Coal Drops Yard in King’s Cross offers a sophisticated al fresco dining experience, seamlessly blending design and functionality. Completed in 2019, the new exterior terrace provides patrons of the adjoining Barrafina restaurant an elevated space to enjoy luxury Spanish-style meals.
This terrace, situated on the first floor of Coal Drops Yard, is a modern architectural addition featuring a robust structural steel framework that integrates seamlessly with the existing ground-floor steels through the slab.
Functional Design
The terrace’s design includes a striking glazed roof, tiered gracefully to the far end of the restaurant, offering patrons shelter without compromising natural light.
At the heart of this elegant outdoor space is a newly designed and manufactured external bar, constructed in stainless steel and clad with decorative curved iroko horizontal ribs. Its polished and rolled stainless steel countertop adds a touch of sophistication, making it a focal point for social gatherings.
Craftsmanship
Surrounding the terrace, bespoke iroko benches with concealed storage enhance functionality while maintaining aesthetic appeal. These are complemented by slatted cedar shutters, suspended artfully from the new steel and glass canopy, which add an element of texture and warmth.
Together, these carefully curated features create a vibrant yet intimate outdoor dining environment, showcasing innovative design and craftsmanship.
