The Brighton Museum and Art Gallery, housed in a Grade 1 listed building, proudly features the Elaine Evans Archaeology Gallery, a vibrant showcase of the region’s rich prehistoric and historical past. This permanent exhibition breathes new life into archaeological narratives through carefully curated displays, including models, artifacts, and immersive showcases. The gallery’s design embraces the significance of the museum's heritage status while providing an engaging, modern setting that appeals to diverse audiences.

Our Role

Delivered by RIB, the project is a testament to collaborative design and precision. Every aspect of the exhibition, from lighting to display cases, has been tailored to highlight the intricacy of the archaeological finds. 

By blending heritage preservation with cutting-edge design, the Elaine Evans Archaeology Gallery has become a central cultural attraction in Brighton, offering visitors a unique journey through the ages.

Heritage

A key highlight of the gallery is its central gathering space, thoughtfully designed as both an educational hub and a place for reflection. The bespoke seating area enhances visitor interaction, offering a space to pause and discuss the exhibits. 

The custom-crafted setworks seamlessly integrate into the museum’s historical architecture with contemporary exhibit designs, creating an environment that respects the building's legacy while supporting innovative storytelling.
